Most people who struggle to attain their desired results in life, and who complain about thing’s not going their way, have one peculiar thing in common:

They rarely think and act on purpose!

Answer honestly: Are you currently moving about your life in a purposeful manner?

Goals and aspirations are a necessary element of successful positive thinking. For how can you create tangible results with the right frame of mind if you’re not entirely clear on what you want?

I urge you from this moment forward to take care and always move in a purposeful manner. Know what you want, where you want to be, and even why you want this to some extent.

For a stronger understanding of how to live on purpose I recommend my article about finding your life purpose, posted on my main spirituality blog.

I hope you’ll find this content helpful and fulfilling.

The majority of people are trapped by inertia in a life that doesn’t reflect their highest ideals. They might think or daydream about the circumstances they would prefer, but they do little to create change.

Some folks will take their desire got happiness to the next level, so to speak, by talking openly about what they want or even writing down plans or goals. This is forward progress but it’s as far as most people ever make it.

Only a small percentage of people ever take action on the things they claim to want. It’s both bizarre and sad, but it’s also the truth.

I understand it’s not always easy to take action. But honestly at this point in my life I’m baffled by how rare genuine action takers are.

As an entrepreneur who hasn’t punched a timeclock since 2005 my life is pretty unconventional. If I want something in a real way I take steps to manifest this objective.

Interestingly, I’ve learned that sometimes I don’t even need to think much about my objective. And I certainly don’t need detailed plans on every occassion.

Because I’m in the habit of taking action I often find myself in spontaneous motion as soon as I identify what I’d like to experience. This is the inevitable result of living an action-oriented life.

Don’t mistake this as bragging. I’m only using my own experience to drive home the point.

The positive rewards we seek are the result of moving our feet. It’s far less important to have all the steps in the process outlined than it is to just start walking in the general direction of what we want.

Action, even on a small level, will ALWAYS trump all the thinking, planning, and talking in the world. It’s better (and more fun!) to be a walker than a talker in any endeavor.

One of the simplest, most powerful tips I’ve ever received for creating success in any area of life is…

Be decisive. Trust my instincts and intuition and take action quickly and confidently.

It’s easy to get caught on the fence, especially for hard decisions. Many people who are “thinkers”, myself included, have a real tendency to agonize over every detail.

But we MUST trust ourselves and take swift action if we want success in life. This applies to business, personal development, romance, health, and even spiritual growth.

Practice feeling out your first impulse for a few minutes and then moving in that direction.

If warning bells start to go off you can always change course. In fact it’s normal to correct course regularly on any mission or path.

The most effective (and even the healthiest) method of operation is to choose and act quickly and to fine tune while in motion. Let go of the illusion that you must get everything right the first time and develop a “go and flow” approach, and you’ll find yourself both happier and much more effective in all aspects of your life.

Give this a shot and see if it helps!

How do feel about wealth and money? A negative attitude toward rich people, and money in general, will keep you poor for the rest of your life. Many people who are not wealthy resent those who are. The bitter irony here is that it’s not possible to become something you don’t like.

Despite the fact that many of these same resentful people would answer “yes” when asked if they’d like to be rich, their negative feelings towards wealth will prevent this from ever happening. By blessing rich and successful people, you set the stage for positive subconscious reflection toward money and wealth. Instead of resenting, be genuinely happy for those who have much and seek to learn what they know.

Some people will even go so far as to say that money is not spiritual, or that it’s downright evil. This is an extremely self-defeating mentality! The bible tells us that “to him (or her) who has, more will be given, and to him (or her) who does not have, even what he (or she) has will be taken away.” You can find this verse in Mark 4:25 and in other versions of the Gospel. Clearly, this is a reference to one’s abundance thinking or lack thereof.

If you believe money is evil you’re going to struggle for the rest of your life. Don’t do this to yourself. Money is a blessing unless it is used in a negative way. So stop believing there is something wicked about having plenty of cash flow. On a subtler note, many people use what they believe are harmless figures of speech like “filthy rich”, “obscene amount of money”, etc. Think about this for a moment.

What do you find filthy or obscene about wealth and money? If the answer is nothing, then I urge you to stop using this sort of negative terminology right away.

It has been said that wealth is first a state of mind, and second a reflection of your assets and money. I believe this wholeheartedly. If you want to avoid a life of struggle and embrace the path to abundance, change your thinking to reflect positively on the ideals of wealth and riches.

One great way to change your money consciousness is with daily positive affirmations. Study this simple technique and apply it to your life and you’ll see change in short order.

Letting go is a simple spiritual concept that many people struggle with. Especially in Western culture the idea of giving up is frowned upon; children are taught to be tough and fight through every life situation.

But letting go is the real measure of courage. Do your part in any situation and then allow what is to take over.

Our egos rebel against such a notion. We must find a way to control everything in our life, and the idea of just trusting things to get done is maddening to the mind that has not become still.

2,500 years ago the sage called Lao Tsu – if he actually existed – wrote many passages about the virtue of doing nothing, and yet leaving nothing undone. The actual language used on one occasion suggested a seeker of wisdom should not work, and thereby all things would be taken care of.

Those who lack understanding will suggest this kind of thinking promotes laziness and daydreaming; far from it! The abstract point being made is that when the mind is free from thoughts of past and future and one resides here in the now, the mind and body are connected and work does not seem like difficult labor or striving.

In a pure state we know what must be done and we find ourselves compelled into inspired action. There is no need to think it over, plan every detail, or worry about the outcome.

Furthermore once we have done our part we are free to release the whole affair. In other words when we take inspired action or add our true intent to the world by acting from the heart, our next step is to let go and trust our work to be carried forward by the natural flow of life.

The paradigm that our society is now emerging from cannot grasp the value of this philosophy. But those who remain open to the teaching will see the truth.

The always-busy state of the world has created a society addicted to chaos and stress. And yet the simplest things like caring for the earth and loving one-another go undone.

When the world understands the value of letting go and flowing from the truth within we will see change. We already know what to do, and we already know the right path; but a mind lost in predictions and controlling the outcome will never be able to take the first step.

I’m a strong advocate of focused intention and deliberate life creation. Both the ideals of positive thinking and law of attraction are important pursuits in today’s world and it’s great that millions of people are striving to take control/responsibility of their lives and build something meaningful and fulfilling.

However I sometimes find this process becomes a chore for people. This should be avoided at all cost!

Above ALL Else: Have Some SERIOUS Fun When Intending Your Life!

This is absolutely positively, without a shadow of a doubt THE most critical point to remember when you set out to intentionally manifest the rest of your life. Without this nothing else you do is going to have a deep and lasting impact.

Life is about being happy right now and experiencing true joy!

So don’t get obsessive and neurotic about your results. Do your part of the work with a positive, upbeat attitude and then let go and get on with your life.

As Lao Tzu says in the timeless work of Tao Te Ching: “Great work is done and then forgotten. Thus it lasts forever.”

Once you’ve set a firm vibration and created strong, positive intentions, it’s time to relax and trust divinity, the cosmos, nature, life, or whatever you like to call the source of all blessings to do the work at hand.

Remain aware of your desires of course, but do so with the spirit of gratitude for their fulfillment and excitement about stepping into your new, imminent reality. You should even practice the art of not thinking about your desires from time to time; allow yourself to enjoy the moment and be fully immersed in whatever you are doing right now.

This is the hardest part of the process for most people. But it’s critical if you want to become a master manifestor.

The idea is that when you truly know your blessings are either here already or fast approaching, there is no reason to constantly monitor progress. Do your part and nature will handle the rest on your behalf.

Always remember you have absolute power to manifest reality as you choose it to be. It may take some practice, but the more you learn about the basics of quantum physics and the law of attraction the more you’ll understand it is your nature to attract and create the reality you intend to experience!

We often pay lip service to the idea of being grateful for our blessings. But too often this pseudo-gratitude is upstaged in our daily lives by the need to whine and moan about every little detail that is not exactly as we would have it.

And here’s a very interesting fact revealed by multiple, specific research groups: The happiest people on this planet come from the most impoverished countries, and from the world’s tribal civilizations and cultures.

It seems the more stuff people have, the more they want to gripe about their problems!

If you are reading this article, I’ll bet you live in a neighborhood that has both running water and electricity. Do you realize much of the world does without these basic resources?

If you were to be honest with yourself and let go of the victim drama you could spot ten or more things to be truly grateful for right now. The fact is it takes work and effort to ignore these things and concentrate on other areas you can grumble about.

If you want to completely recharge your life and make every day as exciting and fulfilling as possible, begin right now to embrace a new perspective of gratitude. Once you adjust the way you look at the world and focus on all the things that are blessing you, a whole new energy will emerge.

For example, does a postal carrier bring mail to your house? If so, let’s look at what a great blessing that is.

This person is a paid employee, meaning they get to support their family and be a productive contributor to your economy. And they work several days each week bringing you basic correspondence from your bank, your utility companies, and so forth.

Just thinking about what shows up in your mailbox opens the door to new blessings you can appreciate. Remember we’re talking about perspective here.

That water bill means you get clean water on demand; all you need to do is turn on the faucet! And your cable bill is a total luxury; if you get one of these it means you have the privilege of spending disposable income so you can pick and choose the exact entertainment you watch on any given evening.

If you also get bank statements dropped into your mailbox at least once each month, it’s clear that you have active accounts with financial institutions that hold and disburse your monetary wealth for you. There are millions of people in this world who would love to have some money to count; even if it’s just a little bit.

And if you live in a place where a postal carrier brings utility bills and bank statements, it’s fair to assume you have some sort of a job. This means someone actually pays you on a regular basis for doing a little work on certain days!

When you think about it, doesn’t the nice person who brings you all this great mail deserve a friendly wave, a sincere “thank you”, or even a nice tip from time to time? Imagine how a little appreciation would brighten this person’s day.

And think about how they might pass this gratitude/kindness on to someone else. Maybe they’ll tip their landscaper, be extra nice to the cashier at the grocery store, or give their spouse an extra hug when they get home. Never underestimate the powerful ripple effect you put into place with a small gesture of gratitude to another human being.

Every “mundane” aspect of your life is more likely an amazing blessing. Sadly, you may have been conditioned to regard much of your life as boring and disappointing.

Reject the concept of mundane right now. Embrace your life as the amazing journey it really is and find new things to be thankful for every day.

Something shocking happens to people who choose to live in this manner. Before long they realize that even more good things are happening around them; it’s as if real and sustained gratitude acts like a super magnet to pull new blessings toward those who wield it.

If you’re rolling your eyes right now I challenge you to step up and prove me wrong. Do the gratitude exercises in this article (and others you create on your own) for 60 days and see for yourself what kind of change you experience.

One of the biggest arguments against the power of positive thinking is the staunch suggestion that: It’s Just Too Simple!

After all, isn’t it absurd to assume we can change things in the “real world” just by thinking happy thoughts? If you buy into the standard paradigm we’ve all been offered by the media, the “education system”, and social peer pressure, this makes good sense.

On the other hand, if we just open our minds up a tiny bit and really test the concepts of positive thinking, intentional manifestation, and law of attraction in our own lives, we find all the evidence needed to support further study. In fact, those of us who actively engage these methods may end up writing articles and books about the experience to help others follow our lead!

When Norman Vincent Peale wrote his best-selling Power Of Positive Thinking decades ago, he was severely challenged by public critics. His intelligence and maturity were called into question and people openly made fun of this crazy ideas expressed in his book.

However, within a few years many of the world’s best-known celebrities, politicians, and spiritual leaders were rallied behind the book. And these folks had come to their shift in paradigm by putting the suggestions of positive thinking and intentional manifestation to work in their own lives!

It’s worthwhile to recognize the fact that science isn’t even sure what the “real world” is! Solid matter has been determined to be vibrating energy, and the entire life experience my or may not even exist outside of receptors within the human brain!

Given these realities, it’s not outlandish (and in fact it’s quite logical) to assert that you and I can and do alter the nature of our world through focused intention. I urge any and all skeptics in the strongest possible way to study the virtues of positive thinking in application and practice a few sound methods for themselves over a period of just 9p days.

It is extremely likely that anyone who seriously engages such methods as visualization, confident daily affirmations, and even just trusting the greater good will soon become a believer in the higher mind and it’s ability to transform reality.

And for those who are simply unwilling to try it on before bashing the value of positive thinking, what are you so afraid of?
